Susan Sporre has died. She was a sweet girl. May she rest in peace:
Susan Bresnehan, 44, of Westport, passed away peacefully on January
27, 2009 of cancer. Susan was the devoted daughter of the late
Kathleen Bresnehan and David Sporre of Maine and loving sister to Erik Sporre and dear aunt to Jenny and Nicholas Sporre of Fairfield.
Susan is also survived by her grandparent Eleanor Sporre of Westport,
her aunts Maureen Rosenthal of NJ, Eileen Cullen of Bethel, Colleen
Ross of Fairfield, Laurie Montagna of Westport and her uncles Jay
Bresnehan of MA, Roger Sporre of PA, Robert Sporre of Danbury and
Barrett Sporre of W. Haven as well as her many cousins and their
families. Her family will miss Susan dearly.
A graduate of Staples high school and Central Conn. State University
with a degree in education, Susan was an avid reader, great lover of
games and devoted to her cats Liberty and George.

That sounds right! I was thinking it was the place that Amy Hahn mentioned - what was that place? At any rate, it was definitely where Staples is now in Fairfield! Thanks for clearing that up!

On the Senior Prom...Does the name Fredricksburg ring a bell?
I remember there was security at the the door and my date asked the guard to dance with him later. Hee!

Wow, does that bring back some memories! Tracy, I’m impressed. Kathleen’s right beyond the goofy attire and the after party activities, I’m just glad I can still remember who I went to prom with.

That's right! I was thinking of Octavios (or however you spell) - I knew it was in the circle. It was fun but my date was soooo sick! Poor guy.

wasn't it at Staples? Cafeteria? I remember the dinner in the goofy prom clothes, I remember the beach after but the actual prom itself? yikes ... that part is a complete blank!

STAPLES PLAYERS REUNION May 24, 2009
Greetings Staples Players alumni and friends of Staples Players!
As you may or may not know, 2009 marks Staples Players' 50th birthday! We are excited to announce a special event we are planning to celebrate this great organization and bring together as many Staples Players alums as possible. We hope you will mark your calendar and save the date of Sunday, May 24th, 2009. This is the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, which we chose so that people would take advantage of the long weekend and come to Westport. The event will take place at Staples and will feature musical numbers, stories, photos and video from past Players productions.
Please email StaplesPlayers50@gmail.com if you are interested in hearing more about this event – how to get tickets, get involved, etc. Please include your graduation year, email address, what shows you were involved with and what role you had in those shows (tech, pit, cast – if so, what roles played).
We will offer more information about this exciting event in coming weeks – for now, we hope that you forward this message on to your high school friends and start to make your travel plans. Please see below for how you can help us.
We are very much looking forward to this exciting event – help us spread the word!
Happy New Year, Staples Players
Things we are interested in hearing from you – please respond if there is anything you can help with:
-Do you have a particularly funny and/or touching anecdote about your time in Players that you would like to share? If so, please email StaplesPlayers50@gmail.com. We are looking for some people to share stories during the celebration.
-Do you have a sibling that was also in Players that might be able to attend the event with you? We are looking to put together a number in the show celebrating siblings involved with Players and would like to include as many people as possible. Please note that this includes actors, pit and tech.
-Do you have photos or videos of past Players productions to share with us? If so, please email KerryLongPhoto@gmail.com. We are not only interested in possibly featuring them in the celebration but copying them (including transferring videos to DVD) to keep in the Staples Players archives.
-Are you currently a performer or involved in the arts?

Enormous and heartfelt thanks to the many of you that sent your thoughts and photos to me about my brother Andy. I can't tell you how much it means to my family. Tomorrow is Andy's son's 16th birthday and thanks to you, I have a wonderful book full of thoughtful memories, comments, stories and pictures to give him. You are really a special group of people to be so thoughtful with your time and memories. Many thanks and love and good health to all.

We at Westporters.com just wanted to let you know that we've added a new feature which makes it very easy to communicate with your graduating class at Staples.
Now when you post on the bulletin board for your graduating class, the entry is sent by email to everyone from your graduating class whose profile is set to receive such messages. You can also post on the bulletin board of any other graduating class at Staples.
This should make it fast and easy to let others know important information, to request information from others, or to set up reunions or other activities.
We hope this new feature will be helpful to you.
Regards,
Customer Service at Westporters.com

To the class of '83: This is a hard message to leave. I stumbled on this website while looking up information on my mom, who passed March 30th of 2005. Her name was Jane Mollo Heberle. She had me freshman year of college, and gave me up for adoption. I was lucky enough to meet her back in '03. Just thought you should all know that she had passed. Any of you that remember her know how amazing she was. If anyone has any stories about her, I'd really love to hear them. I miss her so much every day, and i look forward to hearing about her from any of you that want to share. Thanks so much and sorry to post such bad news.
